GRAMMAR NOTES EXAMPLES
1. The gerund
is often used as the subject of a sentence.
|

Eating fast
food can be fun
·
Not caring about calories is a mistake.
|
2. The
gerund is often used after certain verb as the object of the verb.
You can use a possessive (Anne’s, the
boy’s, your, his, her, its, our, their) before the gerund.
Usage note:
In informal spoken English, many people use object pronouns instead of possessive before the gerund.

I dislike
eating fast food every day.

Julio considered
not eating fast foods.
·
I dislike Julio’s
eating fast foods.

I dislike his
